My dream is to create creative, healing, thriving communities. I’ve been talking about this for years, and I know it will take many more years before things align to make it happen.
For now, I’m moving things forward by building a creative community where I already am: in my studio in Quezon City, Philippines, gathering friends and family, men, women, children, moms, dads, grandparents, yayas, helpers, employees, support staff. Hopefully, over time, this circle will expand to reach out to existing springboard communities and groups that already have their own network of friends and family, and we get to start creativity propellers everywhere.
Creativity takes courage. – Henri Matisse
When I was young, I already knew that I wanted my epitaph to read: “She was brave.”
I’ve lived my life with this as a guiding force, and have found a resounding ally in art.
The ways of the world are changing so fast, and while community now extends beyond geographic confines, there is still so much need for warm bodies to gather and have face-to-face encounters.
Simply put, I am an artist and gatherer. I want to create gathering spaces where warm bodies can create together.
