I am a big fan of the open plan living-dining-kitchen and have been finding ways to really make it work for my small house (footprint is just about 30 square meters!).
Here\’s the first 3D mock up of the ground floor I got from my architect:

Seeing it in 3D gives a sense of how tight the space really is: the sliding doors are the border of the house; the peach walls are the perimeter fence– that area at the back will be gardened and used as a patio/outdoor room.
There won\’t be dividing walls on the ground floor– I want people to see the garden from the main door. I\’ve asked to flip the layout to have the kitchen and dining in one go, making the space more streamlined:

Everything is movable (for some reason I\’ve always found rearranging furniture therapeutic), so these areas are likely to flip more in the future, but here\’s the general feel I hope to create for the ground floor:

A term I first heard from arceesky (from the Skyscrapercity Nuvali thread) was actually Nuvalian. Sounds nice, don’t you think? Hehe.

I’m fine with either terms, “Nuvalite” or “Nuvalian”. What’s important is we belong to the same Nuvali community.
I actually bought a property at Avida Estates (Daphne). So in effect you have seen my house already. You’ve even posted a pic of it at the Skycrapercity forum. 🙂
There are some things I’d like to modify though such as the toilet and bath. Here in Japan where I’m based, a washlet (electric toilet seat with water spray feature for washing) is a common feature in toilets and something I really would like to have in my Nuvali house. Unfortunately, washlets are prohibitively expensive in the Philippines so I’m thinking of just buying a unit here and installing it there. Perhaps a transformer (220v to 100 v) is all I need.
Strangely, these heated toilets also came up in conversation with my family the other day… Will look more into this as well, hehe. 🙂

Regarding washlets, the toilet needs to be completely moisture free, so ideally separate from the bathroom. If this is not possible, perhaps a glass partition between the T&B and an insulated electric outlet for the washlet would do the trick.

Sending more prayers for the looming nuclear threat and restoration process. Saw death toll has risen to 7,000, but rescue efforts from all over are also strong sources of hope… not to mention the exemplary character and discipline of the Japanese. Big hugs!

I admire you for being so hands on and patient on this project. I know that things will work out exactly as how you want every detail to be.
Its true that Now everything is movable. I really like the ground floor area which you have seen in house map. I really inspire from your house plan.
Seems like they could give you the best interior and exterior design. It will be good if every part of your place can be used efficiently.
