We were in Nuvali last Saturday and chanced upon the opening of Solenad 2, Ayala’s second retail area in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. This new development gives Nuvali an additional leasable area of 10, 670 square meters for food and non-food establishments.
It was drizzling so we just went for a quick drive around the area to get a feel of the place.
First to greet us were sports shop and shoe outlets. Curiously, some of these shops are also located in Paseo de Sta. Rosa just a few minutes away.
Facing the Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay road are more restaurants, most of which are still closed.
Went inside for a quick look and had mixed feelings about Solenad 2. On one hand, I think it’s meant to be an upgrade from Solenad 1– and if the goal was to look like a typical Ayala Mall, then they have succeeded. But I was hoping for a “greener” alternative to the typical mall– maybe a more al fresco experience that had more indoor-outdoor integration. I do hope the area generates enough traffic to keep all these merchants in business.
I saw at least three existing entry-exit points for Solenad 2: two from the Sta. Rosa-Tagaytay road and one more from Nuvali boulevard.
The road fronting Robinson’s Supermarket at the very end is not yet passable, but I assume the plan is to eventually complete the loop for vehicular traffic.
Parking is scarce though, available only in one loop strip fronting the establishments. I hope there’s more planned parking at the back. Considering it was a rainy day and most establishments were still closed, we only saw a handful of space available. Imagine the parking problem when these restaurants start opening their doors!
Here’s the complete list of shops soon to open in Solenad 2:
Those getting cheers from me: Serenitea and Max’s (champorado yay!).
Also of note: Montessori di Maria Bambinella — can anyone confirm if this is a school? Seems an unlikely place for a preschool.
The Montessori is indeed a school for 2.5 – 6 y.o i think 🙂
Thanks for confirming this. I hope the choice of location proves effective in the long run. Maybe it’s meant to serve as a day care similar to Gymboree?
By January 19, 2012 we will be at Solenad 2.. More or less 50 persons
