Will let the pictures do the talking (taken on various days in December 2011):
…
A year ago, we took a drive around Nuvali at night, to see how lit (or not) the surroundings and roads would be.
One year hence, I\’d be lying if I said things were much brighter, but definitely you\’d feel a general buzz in the air already:
Logo lamps were littered along Nuvali Boulevard, but past Nuvali North towards the rotonda, it was still pitch black when we passed by last December.
Further along, we saw Christmas lights at the Avida Settings main entrance.
Inside Avida Settings Nuvali was an altogether different story, with lampposts already shining brightly:

Hope Nuvali management lights up the main roads soon!
We drove down to the tip of Nuvali South earlier this week and noticed this newly constructed guardhouse at the end of the road, right by Avida Village Nuvali:
No announcements on this yet, but we\’re assuming it will lead to the Silangan exit.
Another fast tracked development inside Nuvali, wtg Ayala!
We\’re now at that wonderful time of the year when we\’re meant to flock to city hall to update our taxes on real property.
The good news for Nuvali lot and homeowners is that the Calamba city officials are generally friendly and efficient, and the city hall a pleasant place to visit.
These past months, I was at the Calamba City Hall a number of times myself, and chanced upon a tip from a lady at the city assessor\’s office: Get 20% discount on your RPT or amelyar if you pay by December (for the taxes for the following year), and 10% discount if you pay by January. Apologize I wasn\’t able to share this sooner, but it\’s still not too late for the January cut off!
…Nuvali goat herd — Lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo!
Taken in Avida Parkway Settings Nuvali on January 2, 2012.
A slight turn to the left, and here\’s the view (towards the West). That\’s the perimeter wall of Venare, with trees from the Green Zone already showing.
Any guesses what those two towers are at the rightmost peak? How about that line of buildings in the middle of the mountain? 🙂
Saw yesterday that the tiangge in Solenad is now located at the parking lot:
Good decision to move it away from the main Solenad area — there\’s now more space for sellers and shoppers, and also more peace and quiet for restaurant goers and those who just want to enjoy the lake.
Also spotted yesterday: our very own Nuvali security car. 🙂
Exciting! Nice view of Treveia as well!
Couldn\’t embed the video here, but you can view it on facebook. Thank you for sharing.

On our way to a family dinner in Tagaytay last Saturday, my brother asked us to get butter (he was making his well-loved prawn bisque), so we took the chance to swing by the newly opened supermarket in Nuvali.
Was nice to finally step inside the brightly lit space of Robinson\’s Supermarket. I always enjoy looking at food displays and markets in general– most especially when I\’m traveling abroad. Apart from getting full or busog just from all the eye candy, I get a glimpse of the local culture / neighborhood\’s tastes and habits.
Wasn\’t at all surprised to see this in a Nuvali supermarket:

…
Saw a line of these lamps lit up along Nuvali Boulevard recently– looks like we\’re seeing the beginnings of an Ayala Ave. Christmas display counterpart in Nuvali!
These logo lamps are probably here to stay though. What do you say to the bright lights of Christmas all-year round in Nuvali? I say yay. 🙂
…where the call is to take it slow.
I was tempted to overtake just like what that motorcycle did, but there\’s just no honking at a cow.
🙂
I visited the Avida Settings Nuvali administration office last Friday, and found out that association dues for ASNU homeowners will be collected at P5.74 /sqm effective next year. Engr. Vic advised that out of 1,670 units in Avida Settings Nuvali, 912 units or 60% have already been turned over, which means we are well beyond getting free association dues. It has also been the practice of Avida to start off homeowners\’ associations with seed money to manage the village, but HLURB recently discontinued this practice, hence the urgency to collect.
Anyone with info on the current dues for Abrio, Treveia, and Montecito?
Got word that PLDT will soon put up 300 boxes in Montecito to service Nuvali residents.
Hopefully this also means yes to more high-speed internet and cable tv providers in Nuvali. I\’ve seen satellite dishes around ASNU and Engr. Vic also confirmed that most residents use Cignal Digital TV. I took a look at their subscription packages and didn\’t see the ANC News Channel in any of their plans– too bad, it\’s the only channel I really watch!
Will post an update as soon as application forms for PLDT are available.
